I drove over the hill today to meet Linda at 8:30 am at her place. She then drove us to gather Debbie, drive to Julie's and then the four of us in two separate cars headed to Malibu for a hike at the Charmlee Wilderness Park. There, Pam and Sue Ann met us in the parking lot. It was then six women heading off into the coastal fog (which was both eerie and gorgeous) to hike the flowered hills of the Santa Monica Mountains. The terrain was easy on the legs, but we looped the park twice, getting a good 2.5 hour hike in.

We also picnicked in a shady picnic area, enjoying sandwiches, cherries, carrots, sliced Jicama, almonds, raisins, cookies and Cheetos Puffs. I contributed the Cheetos...I just want that noted. I had a blast with this incredible group of gals. Rarely can that many women get together without someone overpowering the group. No one did, not even me with my loud, over-the-top enthusiasm for all things 'nature' or my continuous photo snapping.

Personally, I can't wait until the next hike even though I'm completely knackered now! I had a large dinner as well, and I think that's adding to my fatigue. But I couldn't turn down the world's best homemade sushi. My friends sweetly invited me over for 'Sushi Night' and I've never been so treated. Now, stuffed full of fish and pickled ginger, my eyelids keep drooping to my cheekbones, so I'm hitting the hay. I've got a big week ahead of me...getting ready for my trip to Fried Chicken Land!

Looks like great fun. I love hiking and backpacking, but not as much as cycling.
I like that someone brought sliced jicama, and you brought...cheetos! Good stuff.
